The Seven Chakras

The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means spinning wheel. There are seven major chakras in the body. There are also chakras below and above our body, in our feet, and in our hands. Today we are focusing on the major chakras.

When you receive a reading we may look at one or more of your chakras. When a chakra is “lit up” or “blocked” it means that energy is blocked or there is energy that is not appropriate. Blocks and inappropriate energy can be worked with during a healing to help the energy of the chakra follow more freely. This has an effect on our day-to-day lives.

Chakras are spinning wheels of energy that relate to specific areas of our life - as explained below.

1st ROOT CHAKRA ~ Located at the base of the spine

- Survival – programming necessary to keep the body alive

2nd SPLEEN CHAKRA ~ Located 2 inches below naval

- Emotion (body communication), sensuality, sexuality, clairsentience (feeling emotions of others)

3rd SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA ~ Located 2 inches above naval

- Power and energy distribution throughout the body

4th HEART CHAKRA ~ Located at the sternum/chest

- Affinity – the ability to experience being at one with; love with self and others

5th THROAT CHAKRA ~ Located at the cleft of the throat

- Clairaudience – ability to hear beings without bodies

- Inner Voice – communication between personality and being

6th BROW CHAKRA ~ Located at the center of the head

- Clairvoyance – ability to see clearly; energy, pictures, beings, auras

7th CROWN CHAKRA ~ Located on the top of the head

- Knowingness – ability to be still and know

We have chakras located in our feet and hands as well.

The hand chakras give us the ability to manifest inward creativity outwards.

The feet chakras are located in the feet and give us the ability to walk your path and draw earth energy into your body.
