Connecting with the Other Side: My Journey as a Psychic Medium

Hi, I'm Rev. Darryl, and for over 30 years, I've had the incredible privilege of working as a psychic and energy healer. One of the most fascinating aspects of my work is my ability to connect with the spirit world as a psychic medium. It’s a journey that has deepened my understanding of life, death, and the enduring power of love.


The practice of mediumship has a rich history, dating back centuries. Throughout various cultures, individuals have claimed the ability to communicate with those who have passed on. These early mediums often played important roles in their communities, offering comfort, guidance, and a sense of connection to the departed. In the 19th century, spiritualism gained immense popularity, with séances and mediumship becoming widespread phenomena. While some may approach the topic with skepticism, I can assure you that for those of us who practice it sincerely, it's a deeply meaningful and often profound experience.

There are generally two main types of mediums: trans mediums and psychic mediums. A trans medium allows a spirit to temporarily inhabit their body, speaking and acting through them. This is a less common practice today. I work as a psychic medium, meaning I use my own psychic abilities to perceive and interpret messages from spirits. I might see images, hear voices, feel emotions, or receive direct thoughts from the other side. I then translate these impressions into messages that can bring comfort, validation, and closure to those seeking connection with their loved ones.


One of the most well-known images associated with mediumship is the séance. Traditionally, a séance is a gathering where participants sit in a circle, often in a dimly lit room, in an attempt to communicate with spirits. While the stereotypical image might involve tables levitating and objects flying around, my experiences, and most modern seances, are much more gentle. Often, it's a quiet and reverent space for individuals to connect with loved ones in the spirit world.


What can you expect in a séance or reading with a medium? Every medium works differently, and every session is unique. However, here are some general things to keep in mind:


  •    Preparation: It's helpful to come with an open mind and a clear intention. Think about who you want to connect with and what questions you might have.

  •    The Connection: The medium will create a connection with the spirit world, often through prayer, meditation, or visualization.

  •    Receiving Messages: The medium will then begin to receive messages in various forms, as mentioned earlier.

  •    Interpretation: The medium will interpret these messages and share them with you.

  •    Validation: Often, the spirits will provide specific details or memories that validate their presence and identity.

  •    Comfort and Healing: The ultimate goal is to provide comfort, healing, and a sense of peace.


Being a psychic medium is a great responsibility, and I approach it with the utmost respect and integrity. It's a privilege to be a bridge between the worlds, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help others connect with their loved ones and find peace in the knowledge that love never truly dies.
