Sage is often used in ritual for cleansing a space in which to do spiritual work. Sage has long been used to cleanse negative energies from both the space around and space within the person using it. Sage is also believed to help heal our bodies from depression. When using essential oil in a diffuser it can be uplifting and balancing.
Sage is traditionally used by smudging. Smudging is taking a bundle of leaves and stems and allowing the bundle to burn slightly then extinguishing it and allowing it to smoke or smolder. Passing it around the space where the ritual will be performed or over one's body.
So, you have smudged your sacred space with sage and enjoy the scent. Now, maybe you are wondering what other herbs go well with it.
