Why do you need spiritual cleansing?

Does your home or office sometimes feel “cloudy?” Or do you notice sluggishness? Perhaps even people in the space find things to argue about? Or do you ever feel your work or home routine is interrupted by something “unseen?”

Spiritual or energetic contamination can happen in many ways. For example, residue of an argument can build up in a space, or other emotional residue can weigh things down. There can be contamination from outside that is brought in by you, your family or friends, clients you work with.

Also, although this is unlikely, you could experience a psychic attack of some sort. Psychic attacks are not necessarily what you might have seen in a movie or read in a horror story. More likely is a jealous friend, whose repeated thoughts of envy build up in your space over time. Or someone with a grudge or resentment, also focusing thoughts on you. These are not curses in the traditional sense, but they can contaminate your space.

It is a good idea to periodically cleanse your living, meditation, or work space and you can do that with essential oils as well as other methods. In this blog we’ll focus on essential oils.

Aromatic herbs and oils, and especially essential oils, have been an integral part of the spiritual practices of many traditions. Below is a list of essential oils, grouped by their quality. A good practice is to choose a grounding oil, a cleansing oil, and then a third oil from one of the other qualities, depending on your situation.

For cleansing or purifying, choose one of these

Spruce

For gratitude, choose one of these

Lavender

Start with one or two drops of each oil in an aromatherapy diffuser or mixed with purified water in a spray bottle to spritz the air and furniture.
